My mother was the office manager at Fiesta Floats. I spent time around the people who made that world. Petals starts with those memories and becomes fiction.
— Adept
Memory, invention, judgment
Adept supplied the remembered world, artistic direction, and corrections. Sis, his LLM collaborator, contributed invention and prose. Alden Floral and its characters have their own fictional lives; the novella is not a corporate history or a biography.
One correction mattered throughout: the lot was where the gay men were openly themselves. The story needed to show the work, humor, friendships, and authority they already had there.
Another concerned mechanical failure. Conscientious maintenance can coexist with a breakdown. Leonard’s competence needed to remain visible in both his preparation and his response.
The collaboration involved telling the system when a plausible story was the wrong story, revising it, and deciding what belonged. That human judgment is part of the work.

Brilliant Bridge brings together stories and ideas. BrilliantDojo explores using LLMs with better judgment. BridgeForge works on the authority and boundaries around what systems can do.
